About my works...

There had been a great deal of inspiration that helped me build this portfolio.

Thanks to numerous books and magazines that I have been reading, and numerous photographers and artists who had done this kind of technique before me. Collectively, it challenged me on how I can evolve more and create a body of work out of those inspirations.

So one fine day,  I decided to revisit the places I have already been, and take photos of it once again.  I chose Melaka, a known tourism state in Malaysia.  This time, I decided to portray the scenic places in a different way. I implored the use of multi-exposure of up to 9 frames, and built all the images in the camera itself. Every camera setting, every lens used, every angle and composition is like a brush stroke that when added up resulted in a painting-like image. My objective in doing this is to capture the sense of the place not in the usual way that visitors or photographers will do, at the same time making it relatable to the viewers who had been to such places. Another thing that I wanted to achieve is to create a veil of mystery for those who have not been to these places and inspire them to go and see how it really looks like in actuality.

After trying it for the very first time in Melaka and looking at the images I have created (without Photoshop manipulation), I had never looked into photography the same way ever again...
